     The awesome summit of Maui's Haleakala volcano, just over a one hour drive from the Banyan bed and breakfast, is inside Haleakala National Park. Famous for spectacular above the cloud sunrises, both dawn and dusk are especially magical and mysterious on the top of Maui, 10,000' above the ocean below.
The Banyan bed and breakfast is a great base from which to explore Haleakala as well as the rest of Maui.

Inside the crater is a uniquely spectacular environment, many plant and insect species are found nowhere else on earth.

Haleakala has thirty-two miles of hiking trails,two campsites, and three cabins providing fantastic opportunities for hiking and exploring.

  The Banyan Bed and Breakfast has 7 individual cottages and suites.  Under the Historic Plantation House roof is one of the cottages (Plumeria) and all 3 of the suites; it can be rented as a 2, 3 or 4 bedroom house.  Each cottage and suite has it's own entrance, private bathroom and kitchenette.  Each kitchenette includes a small refrigerator, microwave oven, toaster and coffee maker with fresh ground coffee, teas, hot cocoa etc. Breakfast is served every morning to guests of the suites and cottages, but is not included with plantation house or entire property rental.

Banyan Bed and Breakfast has an ideal central location for touring Maui. 
 From here little of the island is far away.
